With more than 1,150 measurement sections, the Automatic Statistical Traffic Detection System is distributed over the entire road network we manage. Essentially the system’s sensors use two different technologies: inductive loop and microwave, even though the system currently also receives the traffic data generated by our Vergilius system for electronic “average speed” control. Additional technologies — e.g. dynamic scales, video cameras to detect hazardous goods, Bluetooth plotters to detect travel time — have also been implemented.

All of these sensors send their data to our central Platform for Monitoring and Analysis — called PANAMA — which checks and processes the data.
